27-Year-Old Killed In Car Wreck Friday

Car Hit Median, Swerved Into Traffic

LAS VEGAS -- A 27-year-old man was killed Friday afternoon after a four-car wreck on Fashion Show Drive near the Las Vegas Strip.

Las Vegas Metro police said the man was driving a Chevy Monte Carlo and was heading east on Fashion Show when the car hit the raised center median and entered the westbound lanes.

The car then reentered the eastbound lanes and hit a BMW and Ford heading in that direction, police said.

The Chevy then rolled into a fourth car that was stopped in the driveway at Fashion Show Mall waiting to exit onto Fashion Show Drive, police said.

Medical personnel at the scene pronounced the driver of the Chevy dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford had minor injuries. No one else was injured, police said.

The Chevy driver's identity will be released after family has been notified.

This is the 22nd traffic death in Metro's jurisdiction since the start of the year.
